To install Oracle Enterprise Linux from the ISOS, follow the following steps:
Download Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.4 discs 1-6 from Oracle eDelivery. You do not need to download discs 7-11 to install Oracle Enterprise Linux, these CDs only contain the source code.
The downloaded files are compressed with the zip format. Use any unzip tool to uncompress the file, or download a utility from eDelivery http://updates.oracle.com/unzips/unzips.html.
Use your favorite cd burning software to write these images directly to CD. Do not write the image files to the CD. To test if you have burned the images correctly, insert a burned cd and ensure that multiple files and directories are visible.
Lastly, insert the first disk into your system, boot from CD, and follow the on-screen instructions to deploy Oracle Enterprise Linux!
Insert the DVD into your system, boot from DVD, and follow the on-screen instructions to deploy Oracle Enterprise Linux!
Note: that if you intend to use the graphical environment either select the full install from the installation menu or ensure that kdelibs is one of your additional selected packages.
